The Razer DeathAdder has always been viewed as a reliable and comfortable mouse and is a go-to for many gamers. I will be reviewing the DeathAdder Chroma to enable you to decide if it is right for you.

Design

This is a very good looking mouse. It has a simplistic design with an all-black colour. The only parts with lighting are the mouse wheel and the logo. This minimalism means the mouse looks great with whatever colour you set the lights to. It looks professional and stands out above ordinary mice. It comes in similarly designed packaging as well.

Performance and Feel

This is a highly capable mouse when it comes to performance. It has a highly accurate 4G optical sensor with precision up to 10,000 dpi. Using a SteelSeries Qck mouse pad, the mouse glides smoothly. It is light enough to have complete control over quick movements, yet heavy enough to feel professionally made.

The main shell is made of smooth, high quality plastic. Despite it being plastic, it does not feel cheap. On either side, there is a grip pad which sufficiently prevents any potential slipping in the hand. The shape is very well designed for a perfectly ergonomic feel.

Functionality

The mouse has five buttons, including left and right click, mouse wheel click and two programmable buttons on the left. These can be set with the free software, Razer Synapse. They can programmed to a wide range of things, including media, windows shortcuts, sensitivity adjustment, launching programs, most keyboard buttons, macros etc. They have the good resistance, i.e. they are easy to press yet you rarely accidentally press them. These buttons are a nice feature, but there are mice at a similar price with more progr

ammable buttons on them.

The Synapse software also allows you to control the lighting of the mouse. The logo has three settings, static, spectrum cycling and breathing (and off) but the mouse wheel excludes breathing. These options are perhaps limited. One very nice feature is that some games interact with the the lighting of any Chroma product. This includes games like Rise of the Tomb Raider and Overwatch etc. Other games can be found here: http://www.razerzone.com/chroma-workshop/. In Rise of the Tomb Raider, for example, the mouse will flash red when taking damage and will glow orange when Lara lights a torch (and more - see link above).

It has a strong, braided, 2.13m cable.

Conclusion

This is a high quality mouse, being perfect in almost every aspect. It has competitive prices (£40 on Amazon as of 11/12/16) and there are drops in price if you know where to look. I believe this mouse beats all competitors in its price range and is definitely worth the money for all kinds of gaming.

It can be bought from Amazon here.
